Two snowshoers from Kashmir have purported they have been denied visa to a US due to “current (US) policy”.
“Indian Snowshoers Denied Visas, due to ‘current (US) policy’. This from a good crony Abid Khan, from Kashmir, mins ago in a Facebook Messaging,” Clyde Rabideau, Mayor of a Village of Saranac Lake in New York, wrote on his Facebook page.
The snowshoers reportedly denied visas are Abid Khan and Tanveer Hussain. They were ostensible to take partial in a 2017 World Snowshoe Championships in New York from Feb 24-25.
There was no evident greeting from US Embassy officials who were contacted for comments on a issue.
According to a review posted by Rabideau on his page, Khan sensitive him about a rejection of a visa. “Sorry sir, Visa denied,” Khan wrote to a Mayor, a Democrat.
Khan claimed all a paperwork for both a athletes was in sequence including “local Government sponsorship, federation, your support letter, my financial background. They did not missed (sic) any ancillary document.”
“The lady officer during US embassy in New Delhi after checking all docs (sic), only went inside into another room. After returning she pronounced ‘Sorry, due to a stream process we cant emanate we visa’,” Khan said.
Rabideau, while earnest assistance with a visa, pronounced “this will not stand”. The athletes could not be contacted for comments.
