TLC’s T-Boz Opens Up About Emotional, Years-Long Journey to Adopt Son Chance: we ‘Feel Even More Complete’

Last year, Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins welcomed home a son she always wanted — after a years-long adoption journey.

“I feel a same approach we did when we gave birth,” she says of adopting son Chance 16 years after welcoming daughter Chase. “It’s no different.”

But Watkins’ highway to anticipating her complicated family was anything yet typical.

Forty years ago, a TLC singer, 47, was diagnosed with sickle-cell disease, which causes red blood cells to hang to vessel walls, restraint blood upsurge and preventing oxygen from reaching tissues; a miss of oxygen can repairs viscera and means pain so serious it requires hospitalization.
