Gloria Carter is opening adult about coming out as a lesbian to her son, JAY-Z.

As we might know, her tour desirous Beyoncé‘s husband’s strain Smile on his latest album, 4:44, where he raps:

“Mama had 4 kids, though she’s a lesbian/Had to fake so prolonged that she’s a thespian
Had to censor in a closet, so she medicate/Society contrition and a pain was too most to take
Cried tears of fun when we fell in love/Don’t matter to me if it’s a him or her”

Elsewhere on a moving song, Gloria recites a poem she wrote that says:

“Living in a shade / Can we suppose what kind of life it is to live? / In a shadows people see we as happy and giveaway / Because that’s what we wish them to see / The universe is changing and they contend it’s time to be giveaway / But we live with a fear of only being me… Living in a shade feels like a protected place to be / No mistreat for them, no mistreat for me / But life is short, and it’s time to be giveaway / Love who we love, since life isn’t guaranteed.”
