Petty is a father to daughter Montgomery Lee Petty, 32, and sons Austin Petty, 35, and Adam Petty, a veteran racing motorist who died during age 19 in May 2000 after pang a basilar skull detonate from a pile-up during his use run for a Busch 200 competition that year.
