A car has driven into a throng during a Mardi Gras march in a US city of New Orleans, withdrawal 28 people injured, some seriously.

It strike crowds examination a Krewe of Endymion march in a Mid-City district early on Saturday evening.

The motorist of a pick-up lorry seemed unknowingly of what he had done, one watcher told internal media.

“He was only kind of out of it,” Kourtney McKinnis told a New Orleans Advocate.

Police Chief Michael Harrison pronounced 21 people were taken to hospital, 5 in critical condition, with another 7 also injured.
