Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave is removing genuine about a struggles she gifted with in vitro fertilization and a complications surrounding a birth of her 3-year-old son, Cruz.
The 36-year-old wellness burden manager and her husband Edwin Arroyave — who are also relatives to 5-year-old daughter Slate — had an romantic sit-down with Dorit and Paul Kemsley on Tuesday’s part of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, opening adult about one of their darkest days.
They began by admissing they weren’t meddlesome in carrying any some-more kids after a distress they went by with their youngest child.
“We had a unequivocally frightful smoothness with Cruz,” Teddi said, explaining that Cruz wasn’t respirating when he was born. “They put him on me and one of a nurses was like, ‘He’s not okay, Code Blue.’ And we was only sitting there, and he wasn’t breathing.”
As a sea of doctors swept in and Cruz was taken to a NICU, Edwin was dumbstruck. “I only remember my sisters were in a room and they’re crying. [Teddi’s] crying. we was like, ‘Holy crap,’ ” he said. “I was only praying like, ‘Lord, give me one some-more chance. I’ll never do this again.’ ”
The “this” Edwin was referring to was selecting a baby’s sex during in vitro fertilization.
“I done certain it was a boy,” he told a Kemsleys, as Teddi estimated they had 11 womanlike eggs and one male. “I kept saying, ‘I wish a boy, we wish a boy.’ ”

Because Edwin and Teddi had both pushed for a boy, they pronounced they felt they were being punished.
“I’m his mother. My pursuit is to strengthen him, and that small bit of me who felt like we was selecting something — we select for him to be a boy, God didn’t select for me — it’ll always make me feel a small guilty,” Teddi said.
“IVF is one of a hardest things we can go by as a woman,” she added. “One of your biggest jobs is to make babies and when we can’t, we feel unhappy means you’re not means to make your baby. And we also feel unhappy means we feel like you’re failing.”
Cruz was eventually diagnosed with a heart condition, and appears to be in good condition now. “All of us have 3 valves and he has dual operative valves and a third is like, a rusty valve,” Teddi said.
