Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s film Brahmastra that was scheduled to release on August 15, 2019 has been pushed ahead. Now, the Dharma Productions project, also starring Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy, will hit theaters on Christmas 2019. However, Independence Day weekend has been once again taken over by Akshay Kumar for his next movie titled Mission Mangal.
Akshay announced the release date of Mangal Mission via Twitter. He tweeted, “A powerful true story of ordinary people with extraordinary dreams, on an unheard of mission to achieve the impossible. #MissionMangal will come alive on 15th August, 2019. See you at the theaters. @foxstarhindi.” Minutes later, Karan Johar took to his social media accounts to announce the change in the release date of Brahmastra. The post read, “Brahmastra Part 1 Now Releasing Christmas 2019.”

Brahmastra is a fantasy-adventure trilogy directed by Ayan Mukerji. Talking about the film at an event, Alia Bhatt said, “It is a step ahead. This will take cinema to another level. I am excited for next year.” Even fans of Alia and Ranbir are excited to see the lovebirds share the screen for the first time.

On the other hand, Mission Mangal, made in collaboration with R Balki and helmed by Jagan Shakti, will go on floors from mid-November. The film boasts of an ensemble cast including actors like Taapsee Pannu, Vidya Balan, Nithya Menen, Sharman Joshi, Kirti Kulhari and Sonakshi Sinha.
