Jimmy Kimmel Reveals Why He and Wife Molly ‘Didn’t Want to Get Too Close’ to Son Billy during First

Jimmy Kimmel and his wife Molly McNearney overcame a heart-wrenching few months when their baby son William “Billy” John underwent two heart surgeries.

Billy, now 11 months old, was innate with inborn heart condition tetralogy of Fallot with pulmonary atresia, that his famous father initial suggested during a tearful address in May when Kimmel, 50, announced that his youngest child had open heart medicine during 3 days old.

Reflecting on Billy’s health condition, a late-night horde recently told Oprah Winfrey that he and McNearney had brief feelings of detachment.

“There were secrets we kept from any other that we suggested usually after a second surgery. The biggest one was that, we consider subconsciously, we didn’t wish to get too tighten to a baby because we didn’t know what was going to happen,” Kimmel pronounced in an talk for O, The Oprah Magazine‘s Apr issue.

“I don’t know if that’s right or wrong or common or uncommon. But when we told her we was feeling that way, she said, ‘Oh I’m so happy we pronounced that since we was feeling that approach too, and we didn’t wish to demonstrate it,’ ” a father of 4 recalled.

Kimmel and McNearney also share 3-year-old daughter, Jane. The 2018 Oscars horde has dual comparison children – Kevin and Katie – from a prior relationship.

In his tearful May monologue, Kimmel explained that his son’s “pulmonary valve was totally blocked and he has a hole in a wall between a left and right sides of his heart” when he was born. Billy had a second medicine during the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles in Dec during 7 months old.

“He’s great,” Kimmel told Winfrey about a stream standing of his son’s heart condition. “He’ll have another medicine when he’s around 6 or 7 years old, though in a meantime, he’s doing great.”

In February, Kimmel got romantic again when his longtime crony Ellen DeGeneres astounded him with a present for Billy and their whole family.
