Pandora wasn’t built in a day.
Which is expected because restoration on James Cameron‘s illusory star will be holding MUCH longer than creatively planned.
The second installment in a five-film authorization was creatively scheduled to strike theaters in Dec 2014, with a subsequent 3 films slated for Christmas releases in 2020, 2022, and 2023.
While he didn’t hold any sum about a final 3 films, Cameron reliable a 2018 recover for Avatar 2 was “not happening.”
When asked by The Toronto Star about what he could plate on a film’s development, a filmmaker said:
“Well, 2018 is not happening. We haven’t announced a organisation recover date. What people have to know is that this is a intonation of releases. So, we’re not creation ‘Avatar 2,’ we’re creation ‘Avatar 2,’ ‘3,’ ‘4,’ and ‘5.’ It’s an epic undertaking. It’s not distinct building a Three Gorges dam.”
Or a Titanic! …too soon?
Structural similes aside, a 62-year-old pronounced these films will devour a subsequent 8 years of his life, adding:
“It’s not an irrational time support if we consider about it. It took us four-and-a-half years to make one film and now we’re creation four. We’re full lean boogie right now. This is my day pursuit and flattering shortly we’ll be 24/7. We’re flattering good designed on all a creatures and sets. It’s flattering sparkling stuff. we wish we could share with a world. But we have to safety a certain volume of climax and we’re going to pull that screen when a time is right.”
Good things come to those who wait — solely for Sigourney Weaver‘s impression in a 2009 original, though she’ll be behind for a new purpose in a sequels so it’s all good!
The doubt is: will anyone caring about this star by a time Cameron finishes a subsequent movie? We wish so!
