Actress Raima Sen, who is doing a balancing act between Bollywood, Tollywood and digital entertainment, says she will continue operative in Bengali cinema. She says operative in Bengali cinema not usually teaches her a qualification though also gives her a possibility to combine with good filmmakers.
“I will never stop operative in Bengali films; since we have schooled a lot of things as an actor from a Bengali film industry. we am advantageous to work with some of a iconic film directors like late Rituparno Ghosh who taught me a lot,” Raima told IANS in an interview.
“I have worked with many immature filmmakers in Bengal where a stories are unequivocally good, women-oriented films and unequivocally on-going engaging work…Bengali films have given me a lot,” she added. As her new brief film, Mehmaan will shortly be out on a OTT height ZEE5, she gave a small discernment into a character.
She said, “Since it is a brief film, we won’t speak most about my impression though we am personification a mother who is desired by her father unequivocally much. He is prepared to do anything to keep her happy. But is indeed a bizarre…how a story unveils that.”
This is not a initial time she acted in digital calm as she mentioned, “there is a Bengali OTT height called ‘Hoichoi’ where we acted in a web series. But, Zee is huge, it has a assembly not usually conflicting India though overseas”. “So, when they approached me, we was some-more than happy. we consider a web is a subsequent large thing where we can do all a engaging things, examination with a creativity. Digital assembly is some-more receptive to initial calm compared to television.”
Raima is one of those actresses who managed to get a best of both worlds — informal cinema and Bollywood. Being a granddaughter of iconic star of Bengali cinema Suchitra Sen, Raima chose radical films to start her career with. In 1999, Raima started her career as an singer with Shabana Azmi starrer Hindi film Godmother. She went on to do films like Parineeta, Dus, Eklavya: The Royal Guard, Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd., Children of War among many others.
In between, she acted in some of a distinguished Bengali films like Chokher Bali, The Bong Connection, Anuranan, Khela, The Japanese Wife, Memories in March, Noukadubi, Maach Mishti More to name a few.
“I consider we am unequivocally propitious that we always get good film offers and we select best out of them. we am not removing 100 of films though advantageous to be partial of a good content. we keep operative in films that transport to several festivals and from there we get not usually a certain volume of prominence though also good film offers. we consider now makers know my potential,” pronounced Raima. “I would contend that we have worked with some of a best directors and that done adult my craft, we consider for an singer generally in cinema that is a director’s medium, operative with good directors helps a lot,” she added.
Though she started her career in Bollywood, asked about what done her take a sabbatical of 3 years from Bollywood, Raima said, “See, we stay in Mumbai, we have my correct house, a dog all here. But in between, we was removing a lot of offers from Bengal and as an actress, those roles were unequivocally lucrative. So we was only focusing a bit some-more on there.”
However, she is utterly vehement about her arriving films.
“This year, already my film Vodka Diaries released. Two some-more films are in pipeline- 3 Dev and Varanasi. In 3 Dev, a casting is unequivocally interesting, it is an garb expel of Kay Kay Menon, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Karan Singh Grover where we am interconnected conflicting Kunaal. Varanasi is Om Puri ji’s final film. we am looking brazen to both a films.”
