Game of Thrones 7.1 ‘Dragonstone’: dual hands & a North remembers

SPOILERS for Game of Thrones Episode 7.1: “Dragonstone.”

Game of Thrones is back, though not for long. Which is because we felt like a uncover spent too many time throwing adult on a storylines that many people don’t unequivocally caring about? While it was engaging that Sam Tarly’s trail intersected with Jorah Mormont, couldn’t those scenes have been cut down utterly a bit? Granted, I’m starting to trust that Sam will play a poignant purpose in a wars to come, though still. Sam is one of a slightest engaging characters. So, here’s a initial summation of 2017! DRAGONS! JORAH! Littlefinger!

The North Remembers. Of all a taglines/sayings of a uncover (“Winter is coming,” “A Lannister always pays his debts,” etc) we consider we adore “The North Remembers” many of all. The “cold open” of this part was ancient aged Walder Frey entertainment all of a Freys to a retaken castle, and grouping a toast. Of course, Arya killed Walder Frey final season. She’s stolen his face and she’s concocted a tract to kill all of a masculine Freys. It works. The booze is poisoned. She tells one of a Frey daughters, “the North remembers.”

Bran Meera finally make it to a Wall. Edd, a new Lord Commander, is like “who dis?” Meera quietly explains who they are and Edd isn’t certain what to believe. Bran – who usually had a prophesy of a Night King and a White Walker army marching south – tells Edd that he (Edd) was during Hardhome and he knows what’s entrance and Edd’s like “oh sh-t, yeah, okay.” So, finally, Bran and Meera get somewhere safe. Hopefully a reunion with Jon in a subsequent episode?

Euron Greyjoy’s dual hands. God, we hatred Cersei. She’s an simpleton and she’s usually carrying her floor-map painted, that is like rearranging a rug chairs on a Titanic. She and Jamie discuss about their enemies and blah, blah, blah. She has a plan, that is suggested to be a marriage/alliance to Euron Greyjoy and his new armada (which seemed to get built overnight). Euron saunters into King’s Landing like an insouciant, leather-clad stone star and deduction to woo Cersei. His best come on? A meaningful peek and a matter of fact: “I have dual hands.” The demeanour on one-handed Jamie Lannister’s face, OMG! we laughed so hard. Cersei refused Euron’s offer of marriage, though he betrothed to come behind with a gift. we wish it’s not Tyrion.

Ed Bloody Sheeran. After a massacre of a Freys, Arya is on a horse, roving to a South, as we shortly learn. Perhaps she has not listened that Jon Snow has retaken Winterfell, maybe she does not care. She hears someone singing and for a brief, resplendent moment, we suspicion she was about to confront GENDRY. But no. It was Ed Sheeran and a rope of Kingsguards on their approach to a Riverlands (?) to check out a repairs Arya left in her wake. They are good to Arya – they offer her food and booze and they have a chat. She sits subsequent to Ed Bloody Sheeran. This totally took me out of a show, I’m sorry. Also, she tells them her plan: she’s going to Kings Landing to kill Queen Cersei.

Sam Tarly and a Citadel. Like all Sam scenes, this went on too long, generally all a things about a food and a poop. Long story short: he ends adult hidden some books and reckoning out where there’s a towering of dragonglass. He also encounters Jorah Mormont, who seems to be overtaken with greyscale.

Sansa Jon Snow. Jon and Sansa brawl in front of a fabricated lords and ladies of a North. Jon tells them that they have to ready for war, group and women, boys and girls. Jon Snow is a feminist who wants a women to quarrel for their nation too. But he’s not a kind of feminist who takes back-talk from his sister! Sansa argues that unfriendly families need to be punished by carrying their castles and lands taken away. Jon argues that a unfriendly family members are already dead, so if a flourishing family members oath their devotion to him, that’s good adequate for now. A immature lady and a immature child – a flourishing members of diabolic families – come brazen and oath their devotion to a new King of a North. Sansa looks pouty though Lady Mormont is gratified with all of Jon’s decisions and Lady Mormont is a usually one who counts. God, we adore that child.

Sansa and Littlefinger. Meh. we theory he’s still perplexing to manipulate her or something, whatever. Sansa and Jon quarrel secretly though it’s arrange of left during an corner and we know Sansa is still going to criticise him.

Brienne and Tormund. She’s training Pod how to quarrel and Tormund is examination with interest. When she knocks Pod down, Tormund says something about how Pod is so lucky. Tormund is unequivocally going for it. Brienne isn’t into it.

The Hound is Still Around. He’s rolling low with a Brotherhood and they stop during an deserted home – where a Hound stayed with Arya – and stay for a night. These scenes were rather pleasing for a Hound, though what was engaging was that a Hound stared into a abandon and had a prophesy about a White Walker army. So The Hound is rolling with a Lord of Light now? The night is dim and full of terrors, Sandor Clegane.

Dragonstone. It’s been so prolonged given Stannis was alive, many reduction during Dragonstone, that we totally forgot about how pleasing and uncanny that palace is. Dany finally arrives during Dragonstone, that was given to Stannis after Robert’s Rebellion (when a Targaryens were dismissed and killed). Stannis is passed and we theory Dragonstone has been sitting there dull this whole time. They even left a place unlocked! Dany solemnly walks around a castle, and ends adult in a “war room” we theory (it’s where Stannis plotted his wars too) and she says “Shall we begin?” Fade to black.

Photos pleasantness of HBO/Game of Thrones.
