Veteran singer Saira Bano says luminary Aamir Khan is following footsteps of her mythological actor father Dilip Kumar’s character of doing “meaningful films”.

“Dilip sahab used to do one film during a time in dual or 3 years and he did applicable films like ‘Paigham’, ‘Gunga Jumna’. His classics had applicable topics… He totally clinging time for his career,” Bano told reporters here.

“I don’t know if today’s era will have this thing or not. Aamir Khan follows Yusuf sahab (Dilip Kumar). Even Shah Rukh Khan is doing work and Salman Khan is also doing well,” she added.

When asked if there is any emptied dream of a 93- year-old actor, Bano said. “No as he has finished a progression of films”.

However a 71-year-old singer reveals that Kumar wanted to retire after “Ram Aur Shyam”.

“He frightened me once observant he wants to retire after ‘Ram Aur Shyam’. we pleaded him… He was doing ‘Aadmi’ and ‘Ram Aur Shyam’,” she said.

“I literally told him greatfully don’t do it. we asked him to continue. There was a peace in between due to personal problems afterwards he took pivotal roles likes ‘Kranti’. Then he sat behind and roamed opposite places and enjoyed life,” she added.

The “Padosan” star feels a younger stand of actors are intelligent and intelligent.

“Yusuf sahab (is the) initial luminary of Indian cinema. Today everybody is good and smart. We were not that intelligent. They know their work really well, they conduct things nicely, they hoop their career really well. But a times are opposite today. It is a opposite round diversion today,” she added.

Today, bum Kumar, famous as a “tragedy aristocrat of Bollywood”, was presented with Padma Vibhushan by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh during his chateau in suburban Bandra for his grant to Hindi cinema travelling over 6 decades.
